Students of the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit’s Tirur Regional Centre have built a heartfelt ‘Home of Love’ for their fellow postgraduate student S L Anagha, who lost both her parents. Located at Kuttivayal near Kayanna in Kozhikode district, this 800 sq. ft house features a sit-out, hall, two bedrooms, kitchen, and bathroom, and was constructed at a cost of ₹11 lakh. The initiative was led by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the Centre, with active involvement from both students and teachers. Anagha inherited five cents of land from her family at Marapatta, where the house now stands, with construction commencing on May 4 under the guidance of Prof. K Geetha Kumari.
In addition to the house, the NSS team also provided essential furniture, kitchen utensils, and other necessities to help Anagha settle comfortably. The project was coordinated by NSS Volunteer Secretaries Najif Noor, P Akhil, and Nadir Muhammad, supervised by the Centre’s Director Dr. M Moosa and Programme Officers Dr. Abdulla Shah and Dr. Shamshad Hussain, with additional support from local ward member Haris Parambil. The keys to the home will be officially handed over on November 9 in a ceremony inaugurated by MLA K M Sachin Dev and presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. K Geetha Kumari.
