St. Vincent’s Colony GHSS in Kozhikode emerged as the champion in this national contest organized by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Established in 1944, the school is a privately aided institution catering to girls from grades 5 to 12 in an urban setting. It previously demonstrated excellence by securing first place in the state-level role play competition under NCERT’s national population education project.

The NCERT National Role Play Competition targets Class IX students from government, aided schools, and KGBVs, focusing on health, wellness, and social themes from NCERT’s training materials. Teams of 4-5 students perform 5-6 minute skits in Hindi or English without costumes, emphasizing originality and inclusion of children with special needs (CWSN). Evaluation criteria cover content relevance, creativity, expression, and impact on themes like adolescent health and population education.
