A transformative mini tech park is emerging at Kozhikode’s Government Cyberpark, spearheaded by Sandbox in partnership with Kerala State IT Infrastructure Limited, promising to supercharge the Malabar region’s startup ecosystem with space for 600 innovators. Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeev hailed it as more than a workspace, blending incubation, mentorship, funding links, and expertise in HR, marketing, and finance to launch emerging businesses. Spanning 30,000 sq ft, this privately developed facility introduces modern perks like AI-enabled offices, recreation zones, cafés, and event spaces for tech fairs.

Kozhikode Cyberpark Foundations

Cyberpark Kozhikode, launched in 2009 as Malabar’s pioneering IT-SEZ, spans 170 acres near the airport with plug-and-play offices, warm shells, and land for custom builds, drawing over 50 firms in IT/ITeS. Managed by Kerala State IT Infrastructure, it hosts a Kerala Startup Mission campus, fostering northern Kerala’s tech growth alongside giants like Technopark and Infopark. This mini park leases Cyberpark land to amplify collaborative hubs, positioning Kozhikode as a talent magnet for global capability centers.

Sandbox Mini Tech Park Highlights

Sandbox, a Kerala tech ecosystem veteran, crafts flexible spaces for startups, SMEs, and freelancers, including private offices, meeting rooms, breakout areas, and innovation zones for idea-sharing. Employees gain recreation centers, cafés, and showcases to spark creativity, with construction kicking off in October 2025 for a seven-month completion. The design emphasizes adaptability, drawing global talent while nurturing local ventures overlooked in larger parks.

Driving Malabar’s Tech Surge

This project aligns with P Rajeev’s vision to elevate Kozhikode as a dynamic hub, integrating with Kerala’s Rs 90,562 crore KIIFB initiatives for infrastructure-led growth. It addresses Malabar’s startup gaps, boosting job creation and private investment in a region rich in talent but underserved by southern IT poles. For Kozhikode’s evolving narrative from heritage beaches to tech frontiers this signals a fusion of innovation and local pride.
